Estelle Flythe

Benson, NC: Ms. Estelle Benson Flythe, age 86, died Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.  A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ms. Flythe was born June 5, 1926 in Johnston County to the late Edgar A. and Mary Coats Benson. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Clifton and Lerma Parrish Murray; and brothers, Sherbert Benson and Shirley Benson.  Ms. Flythe was a 1946 graduate of Benson High School and a 1949 graduate of the Rex School of Nursing.  She was a nurse at Rex Hospital for 22 years and at Wake Medical Center until her retirement in 1995. Surviving include step-daughter, Carolyn Day and husband, Leon, of New York City, NY; sister, Eloise Worrell of Tampa, FL; brother, Shelton Benson of Benson; and several Nieces and Nephews.
