Ethel Core

Benson:  Mrs. Ethel Benson Core, age 93, died Monday, August 13, 2018, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel.  Revs. Scott Johnson, Randy Beasley, and Paul Conley will officiate.  Burial will follow in Benson Family Cemetery.            Mrs. Core was born on August 27, 1924 in Johnston County, NC to the late Willie and Minnie McLamb Benson.  She was also preceded in death by Earl Washington Core.  She worked at Block Industries and Jerold Corporation and was a member of Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church.           Mrs. Core is survived by her children, Willie Earl Core of Benson, Willa C. Adams of Raleigh, and Brenda C. Young of Benson; grandchildren, Shelly Adams Thompson & husband, Tony, of Raleigh, Christian Earl Core of Benson, Jeffrey Neil Young of Charlotte, and Amber Young Parker & husband, John, of Dunn; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.           The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home from 1:30PM to 2:30PM Thursday prior to the service and other times at the home of Brenda C. Young, 2298 Beasley Road, Benson.           Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church, c/o Phyllis Barefoot, 64 Wood's Crossroads Road, Benson, NC  27504.
