Eukela Kermit Lee

Myrtle Beach, SC: Mr. Eukela Kermit Lee, age 85, formerly of Rocky Mount and Dunn, died Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC.  A Memorial Service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Benson Baptist Church in Benson, NC.  Officiating will be Rev. Rick Weidman. Kermit was born in Dunn, NC on August 15, 1927 to the late B. G. and Nettie Wilkins Lee. After high school, he married Myrtle Honeycutt on January 28, 1946.  He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served for two years.  After his service, he began working for Johnson Cotton Company, a John Deere dealer organization, in Dunn.  His career with John Deere continued as he and his family moved to Rocky Mount and he began working at Tulloss Tractor Company, where he stayed until 1981. At that time, he purchased a John Deere dealership in Washington, NC.  The organization grew to include dealerships in Williamston, Ahoskie, Rocky Mount, NC, Courtland, VA, Greeneville, and Gray TN.  Kermit retired in 1986.   Surviving include Wife of 66 years, Myrtle Honeycutt Lee; Children, Becky Lee Rouse and husband, Ray, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Phillip Kermit Lee of Racine, Wisconsin, and Miriam Lynn Lee of Wilmington, NC; 7 Grandchildren & Spouses, Chadwick Stanley & Karen Landen of Greenville, SC, Kellie Landen & Bill Demeritt of Raleigh, NC, Christy Lee & Lucas Botros of Greensboro, NC, Anne Hayes Lee of Greensboro, NC, Phillip Kermit Lee, Jr. of Greenville, NC, George Nicholson Bellamy of Leland, NC and Graham Spencer & Meiling Bellamy of Nashville, NC; and 7 Great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00 P.M Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lions Club International, 300 W. 22nd Street, Oak Brook, Il  60523 or American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1544, Smithfield, NC  27577.
