Ezra Byrd, Jr.

Smithfield, NC:  Mr. Ezra Byrd, Jr. age 76 of 3885 NC Highway 210 Smithfield, died Friday at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks with Rev. Kevin Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow at Barbour’s Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Byrd was born August 6, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Ezra Elton & Vergie Parrish Byrd. He was retired from the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was the truck manager at A.G. Lee Truck Stop of Smithfield.  Surviving include his Wife, Margie Slaughter Byrd; Son and daughter-in-law, Joe & Helen Byrd of Dunn; Grandchildren, Joey and Jeremy Byrd of Dunn. The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, Tuesday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
