Fleta Gold Penny Wood

Dunn, NC:  Mrs. Fleta Gold Penny Wood, age 80, of Jonesboro Road, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her home. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Dunn Advent Christian Church in Dunn. Officiating will be Revs. Michael Whitley and Leon Tart. There will be a private family committal service at Harnett Devotional Gardens.             Mrs. Wood was born on October 25, 1940 in Harnett County to the late Richard Roscoe and Dolah Mae Barefoot Penny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron B. Wood, a granddaughter, Johnna St. Claire Grabowski, brother, Charles Olin Penny, sister, Anna Lee Culbreth. Mrs. Wood was a textile engineer at Bonders and M. B. Apparel and currently worked for H and R Block. She was a life time member of Dunn Advent Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was the Church Treasurer for over 50 years.                 Surviving include her children, Michael Aaron Wood and wife, Cynthia of Dunn, Anita Wood Ellen of Dunn; grandchildren, Brett Pleasant and wife, Laura, Aubron Hardison Wood and partner, Allison Mills, Alyssa Courtney Ellen, Anderson Hughes Wood; two great-grandchildren, Kahlan St. Claire Grabowski and Emma Grace Pleasant; brother, Richard Rayvon Penny of Linden; several nieces and nephews.            Mrs. Wood will be available for viewing and you can sign the register book on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 12:00PM-5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time.              In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to Dunn Advent Christian Church 700 East Pearsall Street Dunn, NC 28334.               In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
