Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Flonnie Thompson Byrd age 91, of 408 E. Sanders Street, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral services will be 3:00PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy Wooten, Rev. Grace Hargis and Rev. Terry Batten. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Byrd was born October 5, 1922 in Johnston County to the late Henry & Lula Blackmon Thompson. Mrs. Byrd was a retired farmer and homemaker and also had a childcare business in her home for many years. Mrs. Byrd was a member of the First Advent Christian Church of Four Oaks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thel Byrd, sisters, Vonnie Creech and Clara Allen, Brothers, Joe Thompson, Edgar Thompson and Wilson Thompson.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie "Chris" & Dennis McLamb of Dunn; Bettie & Harold Garner of Smithfield; sister, Ruby Allen of High Point; grandson and wife, Brent and Keeli McLamb of Clinton. Several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 2:00PM-2:45PM Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
