Garland, NC: Rev. Fred Julius Pleasant, age 87, of Garland died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Herbert Carter and Dr. Don Sauls. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier.
Rev. Pleasant was born July 9, 1926 in Harnett County to the late Joseph C. and Pearl Guy Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Dean Pleasant. Rev. Pleasant served the NC Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Churches for over 50 years in Lillington, Benson, Faison, Sanford, Wilmington, Rose Hill and Garland. He was the North Carolina Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Youth Director for over 6 years. Rev. Pleasant was a US Navy Veteran.
Surviving include his Wife, Anne Wright Pleasant; Daughters & Sons-In-Law, Ann Cantwell of Pinehurst and Teresa & David Wylie of Raleigh; Sons & Daughters-In-Law, Julius D. "Butch" Pleasant of Whispering Pines and Tim & Tricia Pleasant of Fremont; Grandchildren & Spouses, Dr. Alfred & Deann Faulkner, Kenneth & Sarah Donleycott, Glenn & Angie Pleasant, D.J. & Mary Beth Conrad, Deborah Pleasant, Meredith & Chris Weathersby and Miles Pleasant; Eight Great Grandchildren; Brother & Sister-In-Law, Glenwood & Ruth Pleasant of Angier; and Nieces & Nephews.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday.
