Gary "Red" Murphy

Four Oaks, NC:  Mr. Lou Gary "Red" Murphy, age 67, of 10976 NC HWY 210 died Thursday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM  Saturday at St. Mary's Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be Revs. David Langley, Glenn McCullen and Mr. Larry Summerlin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.             Mr. Murphy was born July 9, 1950 in Sampson County to the late Robert Allen and Annie McCullen Murphy.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Merle "Tootie" Murphy and Bobby Joe Murphy.  Mr. Murphy was the owner and operator of Red's Service Center and attended St. Mary's Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.             Surviving include his wife of 32 years, Annette Honeycutt Murphy; children, Alan Murphy and wife, Shannon of Clinton; Ben Murphy of Four Oaks and Emily Murphy and fiancé, Cody Rhodes of Dunn; grandson, Dalton Murphy; great-grandson, Asher Murphy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Treva Elaine and Bobby West of Turkey; Janet Sue and Earl Faircloth of Newton Grove; brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Barbara Murphy of Goldsboro; many nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 6:00PM - 8:00PM Friday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.             Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Diane Johnson, 3053 Federal Road, Benson, NC 27504.              Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
