George Scott

Angier, NC: Mr. George Walter Scott, age 79, of 313 Teresa Court died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. Memorial service will be 3:00PM Monday, April 16, 2012, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Warren Bock.   Mr. Scott was born January 13, 1933 in Pasquotank County to the late George Dewey & Clara Pendleton Scott. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Walter Scott.  Mr. Scott graduated from N. C. State University as a mechanical and aeronautical engineer. He played football at N. C. State from 1955-1959 and also played in the Air Force.  He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Scott retired after over 40 years of service with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in West Palm Beach, FL. Surviving include his Wife of 54 years, Marjorie Ogburn Scott; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Brian Dewey & Jaynean Scott of Clayton; Sister, Mary Simmons of FL; Grandsons, Garrett Walter Scott, Austin Karl Scott, and Kylar Bruce Scott; Niece, Elaine Simmons and Nephew, Craig Simmons, both of VA; and great niece and nephew. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM-8:00PM Sunday, April 15, 2012 and other times at the home.
