Benson, NC: Mrs. Gladys Pearce Johnson, age 100, passed away Tuesday at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Randy Lucas and David Lee. Graveside Service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton, NC with Rev. Richard Troy Johnson officiating.Mrs. Johnson was born February 23, 1917 in Johnston County to the late Franklin Doc and Minnie Pearl Pike Pearce. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard Earl Johnson, son, Bobby Ray Johnson, granddaughter, Marilyn Phillips, great-grandson, Michael Parrish, brothers, Robert Bob Pearce, James Pearce, Milford Pearce, John Pearce, and HP Pearce. As a ministers wife, she served the Lord in many Church of God Churches in eastern North Carolina. She was a homemaker and member of Benson Church of God. She has been a faithful Christian for 77 years.Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Billy and Bonnie Johnson and Jerry and Naomi Lipscomb Johnson all of Clayton; daughters and son-in law, Janet Barbour and Donna and Randy Southern all of Raleigh; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Brannan, Clara Curby and Shirley Baiardi; many nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends 12:45 PM -1:45 PM Thursday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to New Life Pentecostal Church, 401 E.
