Benson, NC:  Mr. Glenn Everette Blackman, age 70, of Meadowbrook Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church, Newton Grove. Revs. Bill West, Clayton Sutton, and Frank Sandy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blackman Family Cemetery, Meadow.             Mr. Blackman was born on April 13, 1950 in Johnston County to the late H. Kermit and Marguerite Thornton Blackman. He owned and operated Carolina Produce, a successor to the White Rose Farm, and retired from Del Monte Foods and Allen Canning Company in the position of raw products manager of the southeastern division. Mr. Blackman served his country in the National Guard and was a member and trustee of Hood’s Grove Baptist Church. Surviving include his wife of 50 years, Vickie Lee Blackman; children, Wendy B. Johnson and husband, Alan of Benson, Jeana B. Parker and husband, Ike of Raleigh, Lenette B. Ryan and husband, Daniel of Raleigh, Everette A. Blackman of Raleigh; grandchildren, Benjamin Johnson, Preston Johnson, Caden Johnson, Carson Parker, Holland Parker, Bella Ryan; brother, Sherrill Blackman and wife, Becky of Clinton; nephew, Walt Blackman; niece, Ellen Salley.             Mr. Blackman  will be available for viewing and you may sign the register book from 12:00 Noon to 5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson on Saturday, July 4, 2020 and the family will not be present at this time.             In accordance with the current NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggest practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash and wear a face covering. A mask is mandated for those in attendance for the funeral service on Sunday.  The funeral service for Mr. Blackman will be also streamed live on Hood's Grove Baptist Church's Facebook page on Sunday.
