Glenwood "Teeny" Addison Pleasant, age 96, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 15, 1928, in Harnett County, North Carolina, Teeny lived a life marked by strength, commitment, and dedication to his family and community.
Teeny was a talented mechanic, known for his problem-solving skills and ability to fix almost anything that came his way. His mechanical expertise was complemented by a deep sense of responsibility and service to others, traits he exemplified throughout his life.
A proud member of the community, Teeny was actively involved in local scouting as a Scout Master for Troop 779 in Coats, where he inspired countless young boys to develop skills, confidence, and values that would serve them well in life. Additionally, he was a long-time member of Red Hill PFWB Church in Coats, contributing to the spiritual fabric of his community and building lasting friendships rooted in faith.
Teeny is survived by his devoted children, Truelah Brinkerhoff and her husband Tom of Erwin; Steve Pleasant and his wife Loretta of Coats; and Danny Pleasant of Angier. He is also survived by his step-sons Mike West and his wife Robin of Angier, and Andy Jones of Coats. He took great pride in his family, which includes 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he shared with those around him.
Teeny was preceded in death by his parents, Joe C. Pleasant and Pearl Guy Pleasant; his wives, Ellen Jane Pleasant and Ruth West Pleasant; his step-son Curtis Jones; and his brothers, J.R. Pleasant, Tommy Pleasant, and Rev. Fred Pleasant. He also mourned the loss of his daughters-in-law, Shelia Grady Pleasant and Theresa Jones, who were cherished members of his family.
Visitation services will take place on January 29, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc. in Coats, followed by a funeral service on January 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Donnie Barbour officiating the service. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
Glenwood "Teeny" Addison Pleasant will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his contributions to the community, and the indelible mark he left on the lives around him. His spirit and memories will forever be cherished by all who had the honor of knowing him.
