Harold Ray Elswick

Angier, NC: Mr. Harold Ray Elswick, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. Graveside Memorial Services will be 2:00PM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Fuller.

Mr. Elswick was born on August 28, 1947 in Oakwood, VA to the late Jessie Hubert and Gwendolyn Ruth Messer Elswick. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri Denise Creech; a sister, Glenna Dean Rose; and a brother, Timothy Scott Elswick. Mr. Elswick was a retired contractor.

Surviving include his wife of 54 years, Dolly G. Elswick of Angier; daughter, Melissa Darlene Hess and husband, Gary of Asheboro; son-in-law, John Creech and wife, Kimberly of Angier; grandson/son, Matthew Shelton and wife, Audrey Wilcox; granddaughters, Emily Denise Beverly, Lindsey Melissa Helbert and wife, Hailey; step-granddaughter, Tiffany Cole and husband, Jon; great-grandchildren, Bradley Pettis, Silas Pettis, Nick Davis, Isabella Davis, Sadie Helbert; sisters, Shirley Whittaker of Fort Pearce, FL, Patricia Looney of Lorton, VA, Teresa Thierry of Norton, VA; brothers, Wayne Elswick of Abingdon, VA, Mark Elswick of Lafayette, LA; numerous nieces and nephews.
