Hazel Schnitzler

Benson, NC:  Mrs. Hazel Gerdes Schnitzler, age 99, of 1091 Woodall Dairy Road died Monday, May 14, 2012, at her residence. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel. Rev. Barry Barbour and Rev. Reginald Ponder will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa at a later date. Mrs. Schnitzler was born in Manchester, Iowa on November 29, 1912 to the late Elizabeth Vandermass and Jess O. Boots, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gerdes. She was a homemaker, a member of Elevation United Methodist Church and a member of the Benson Senior Center.  Surviving are Daughter, Gloria J. Hill of Benson, NC; Sons, James E. Fish of Clovis, NM and Wilbert O. Fish of Walkersville, MD; brothers, Jess O. Boots, Jr. of Virgin, Utah and Richard Boots of Cedar Rapides, Iowa; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday immediately following the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home.
