Herbert Larry "Joey" Hughes

Coats, NC:  Mr.  Herbert Larry “Joey” Hughes, age 50, of NC 27 East, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his parent’s home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats.  Burial will follow in the Byrd Family Cemetery in Angier, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy Newkirk.           Joey was born on May 23, 1970 in Harnett County to Willie and Nancy Ann Matthews Hughes of Coats. He was preceded in death by his son, Dustin Larry Hughes; brother, Benny Ray Hughes. Joey was a painter and loved by his family dearly.             Surviving in addition to his parents are fiancé of 15 years, Patricia Pendagast of Coats; daughters, Daryl Lynn H. Hyden and husband, Jamie of Raleigh, Rebecca H. Colla and husband, Bobby of New York; son, Casey Hughes of New York; one grandson; sisters, Shelia H. Jones and husband, Dave of Knightdale, Nancy H. Mitchell and husband, Edward of Coats; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM-Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home of Joey’s Parents, 106 E. Washington Street, Coats, NC 27521.                 In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. The visitation on Saturday night will follow all COVID- 19 restrictions allowing a maximum number of 25 people in the visitation room. Mask are required for all services.
