Hilda Norris

Garner:  Mrs. Hilda Pope Norris, age 83, of 1317 Kelly Rd. died Saturday evening at home.  Funeral Services will be held 6:00PM Tuesday at Garner Advent Christian Church.    Officiating will be  Revs. Joe Brown, and Kenny Latimore.  A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield. Mrs. Norris was born September 22, 1931 in Johnston County to the late Archie Raymond and Callie Mae Jones Pope.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grand-daughter, Sydney Carol Parrish.  She retired from Agri-Supply after 20 years of service.  Mrs. Norris was a member of Garner Advent Christian Church. Surviving are husband of 66 years, James Gardner Norris; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Donna Norris and Terry and Dawn Norris, all of Garner; sisters, Lois Southerland of Smithfield, Jewel Johnson of Wilmington, and Ann Allen of Garner; brothers, Harold Pope of Smithfield, Jackie Pope of Smithfield, Jerry Pope of Smithfield, Charles Pope of Angier; four grand-daughters; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
