Hilda Smith

October 9, 1939 — June 2, 2020

Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Hilda Overby Smith, age 80, of 37 Go Cart Road, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held 3:00PM, Friday, June 5, 2020 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church outside Four Oaks. Officiating will be Revs. Jonathan Pearce and Billy Nowell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.                Mrs. Smith was born on October 9, 1939 in Johnston County to the late Nedham Ashley and India Mae Nowell Overby. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Graylon Smith, brothers, Ray Overby, Rotha "Bo" Overby,  twin sister, Wilma Overby Norris and sister, Reba Overby Garner.  Mrs. Smith was a retired seamstress and a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. One of her many pleasures was serving her family Sunday lunch after church. She loved all of them.              Surviving include her daughter, Paula Jo Rhodes and husband, Rodney of Garner; son, Scott Ashley Smith and wife, Karen of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Allison Mae Smith and Abigail Grae Smith; many nieces and nephews.             The family will  receive friends immediately following the funeral service in the fellowship hall at the church on Friday.             Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, PO Box 1976, Smithfield, NC 27577.               Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC.
