Benson: Mrs. Hillarie Johnson Denning, age 32, of 1690 Benson Hardee Road died Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Benson Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCullen and Rev. Charles Royal. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Hillarie was born October 12, 1979 in Wake County to M. G. and Judy Young Johnson of Benson. She was a 1997 graduate of South Johnston High School and received the Female Athlete of the Year award during her senior year. Hillarie was awarded the Presidential Scholarship at Campbell University and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. While at Campbell, she was a member of the soccer team and served as Captain her sophomore year. Hillarie was currently a sixth grade teacher at McGee’s Crossroads Middle School and had taught at Benson Elementary School and Meadow School. She was a member of Benson Baptist Church where she served in many capacities
Survivors, in addition to her parents, are Husband, Mike Denning; Stepson, Justin Denning of the home; Brother & Sister-in-Law, M. Gardner & Misty Johnson of Benson; and Aunts & Uncles, Betty Jo J. & Bill Pearson of Raleigh and Pam Y. & Bruce Wilkie of Clayton.
Family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Benson Baptist Church from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, January 6, 2012.
