Ila Baker

Coats, NC: Mrs. Ila Elizabeth Barefoot Baker, age, 90 of Bailey Road, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Officiating will be Rev. James Gurkins and Rev. Curtiss Tatum.  Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.             Mrs. Baker was born February 27, 1928 in Harnett County to the late James Robert and Laura Jane Phillips Barefoot.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Baker; daughter,  Hazel Baker Strickland; sisters, Agnes Baker Douglas, Ruby Jane Baker, Clara Ellen and a brother Elton Barefoot. Mrs. Baker was a retired textile supervisor, a homemaker, and a member of Red Hill Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Ralph Anthony Baker and wife, Norma; June Baker Brown and husband, Leonard; and Ruby Baker Stephenson and husband, Joseph Ray; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; brother, Shelton Barefoot;  many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
