Four Oaks, NC: LTC, US Army Retired, Irvin Ray Blackmon, age, 66, died Wednesday at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, November 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Four Oaks, 403 N. Main Street, Four Oaks, NC 27524 with military honors. Rev. John Norman will officiate.
Mr. Blackmon was born on February 20, 1952 in Johnston County to Irvin Blackmon of Benson and the late Kay Lassiter Blackmon. He retired from the US Army and was also a member of the National Guard. After retirement, he served as the Airport Director for the Johnston County Regional Airport. Mr. Blackmon was a pilot and also a flight instructor.
Surviving in addition to his father include his wife of 4 years, Theresa Pearce Blackmon, children, Audrey Campbell and husband, Matt of Surf City; Kristina Blackmon of Wilmington; Leslie Feil and husband, Tyler of Hampstead; Matt Blackmon of Cary; Alexander Blackmon and fiancée, Natalie of Wake Forest; Harrison Warlick of Lillington; Sydney Warlick of Four Oaks. three grandchildren, Hunter, Tyson, and Owen: sister, Glenda Blackmon and husband, Steve Padgett of Surf City; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
