Isla Ruth McLamb Benson

Benson, NC: Mrs. Isla Ruth McLamb Benson, age 89, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 12:00PM-Thursday, August 19, 2021 at New Life Pentecostal Church in Benson, NC. Pastor Randy Lucas will officiate. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson, NC.

Mrs. Benson was born on January 24, 1932 in Johnston County, NC to the late Allmon and Varah Turnage McLamb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clelon H. Benson, daughter, Rhonda Redar, sisters, Leta Gold Lee, Irene Warren, Eva Hudson, and Elma Carmichael; brothers, Gerald McLamb, Redding McLamb, Stacy McLamb, Gardner McLamb and Leonard McLamb. Mrs. Benson was a homemaker and member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Benson, NC.

Surviving include her son, Mark Benson; daughter, Lynn Benson-Rogers; grandchildren, John Rogers, Charlie Rogers and Tanya Rogers; great-grandchildren, Jack Rogers, L.J. Scott, Jamal Scott, and Deante Scott; sister, Ilee Lucas; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 11:00AM-11:45AM-Thursday, August 19, 2021 prior to the service at New Life Pentecostal Church, 401 East Church Street, Benson, NC 27504 and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to New Life Pentecostal Church, PO Box 97, Benson, NC 27504.
