Jacqueline Elizabeth "Jackie" Jackson Parrish

Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Jacqueline Elizabeth “Jackie” Jackson Parrish, age 96, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM, Friday, June 30, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks, NC.  Rev. Della Grace Hargis will officiate. Burial will follow in Barbour‘s Chapel Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks, NC.

Jackie was born on May 9, 1927 in Johnston County, NC to the late Walter and Louie Blackmon Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Earl Parrish, and her siblings, Josephine Turner, Shorty Jackson, Jean Hawley, R.A. Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, and Nancy Parker.  Jackie retired from Eaton Corporation. She was also a very active member of First Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC. It has been said that you make a living by what you get and you make a life by what you give.  Jackie gave all she had to many organizations in Johnston County, NC, whether it was ticket sales, plate sales or any other fundraising events, her heart was there. She was very proud of her "Beggar's License." She served with compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and love.  When you met Jackie, you never forgot her smile, nor her love for everyone around her. 

Jackie was involved with local organizations such as Johnston County Relay for Life, Four Oaks Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Four Oaks American Legion Auxiliary, Johnston County Salvation Army, Johnston Community College and Johnston County Republican Women. Jackie was a founding member of the Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce. She loved being the volunteer coordinator at the Johnston County Courthouse information desk and was an Avid NC State Wolfpack fan.

She also received many awards including the Governor's Award for Volunteer Service, the Johnston County Commissioner's Certificate of Excellence, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and many recognitions with American Cancer Society Relay for Life. 

Survivors include her daughters, June Raynor and husband, Lamar, and Pat Cheek all of Four Oaks, NC and many loving nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM, Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC, and other times at the home.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Cookie Raynor and Gloria Bonner for their loving care given to their mother. These two ladies were not only Jackie's caregivers but they also became part of the family. 

       The family also appreciates the loving care given to their mother by many other caregivers, special friends, family and Liberty Hospice Care.
