James "Travis" Godwin

Coats, NC:  Mr. James “Travis” Godwin, age 63, of Bailey’s Crossroads Road, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Campbell. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.             Mr. Godwin was born on January 26, 1958 in Harnett County to the late James Lawrence and Betty Cobb Godwin. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Leigh Godwin. Mr. Godwin was a retired heavy equipment mechanic.       Surviving include his wife of 16 years, Teresa F. Godwin of Coats; children, Nicholas Haithcock and wife, Kellie of Erwin, Jeremy Haithcock and wife, Laura of Erwin; grandchildren, Emma Grace Knowles and Emmett Alexander Haithcock; sister, Sue Godwin of Benson; brother, Max Godwin of Benson; niece, Samantha Coats of Clayton.            Mr. Godwin will be available for viewing and you can sign the register book on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 12:00PM-5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time. The family will receive friends at the home.              Flowers are welcomed.               In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
