James Langley

July 11, 1932 — January 6, 2015

Angier, NC: Mr. James Floyd Langley, age 82, of 91 Greenleaf Road died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.  Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Friday, January 9, 2015, at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Officiating will be Mr. Larry Summerlin. Burial will follow in  Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier.     Mr. Langley was born July 11, 1932 in Johnston County to the late Thurman and Bessie Adams Langley.    Mr. Langley retired as a Senior Vice President of Four Oaks Bank and had worked at Farm Credit Services.  He was a member of the Agri-Business Council, the Johnston County Board of Equalization and Review, and the 40/42 Four Oaks Bank Advisory Board.  Mr. Langley was also a member of the 4-H Alumni Board and the 4-H Johnston County Livestock Board.   He was a Johnston County Soil & Water supervisor for 16 years.  Mr. Langley was a U. S.  Army veteran and was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church.       Surviving include wife, Helen Barbour Langley; son & daughter-in-law, Michael & LuAnn Langley of Suwanee, Georgia; daughter & son-in-law, Angela L. & George "Jed" Murphy of Angier; sisters, Myra Johnson of Garner, Jackie Byrd & Linda Proctor, both of Clayton; brothers, Thelbert Langley of Garner & Walter Langley of Fuquay Varina; grandson, Christopher Michael Langley of Suwanee, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.       The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM Thursday.       Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be made to Shepherds Theological Seminary, 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC  27518.
