Jason was called home to be with Jesus on October 12, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, son, son-in-law, brother, nephew, and uncle. Jason loved loudly and fiercely. Funeral Services will be 4:30PM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Overflow Church in Angier. Officiating will be Pastors Brandon Teachey, Jonathon Hoefer, and Hugo Zacarias. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:15PM at Overflow Church in Angier prior to the funeral service and other times at the home.

Jason was born on September 16, 1970 in Cumberland County and raised a North Carolina boy, he loved the Carolina Tar Heels. His favorite baseball team though was the Shenandoah University Hornets, where both of his sons played college baseball. He was a baseball coach for over fifteen years, he shared his love for baseball with many throughout those years. Jason devoted every extra moment of his time to being with his boys on and off the field and had many “baseball sons” that he mentored over the years.

Through his son's passion for baseball, it ignited a love to start coaching. This gave life to form friendships that would become extended family beyond the ball field. Jason’s coaching career started as an assistant coach for his oldest son Austin, and then a head coach of his youngest, Dillon. He loved every moment of it, spreading his love and the word of God to every team he coached. Throughout the years as a coach, he coached along with lifelong friends, and met families through baseball that would last a lifetime.

Over the past three years, Jason had battled Stage 4 Glioblastoma (a form of brain cancer). After his diagnosis, the surgeons performed a successful brain surgery that removed the entire tumor. Following his surgery, Jason received chemotherapy and radiation as he continued his battle. God has been in every step of this journey providing many blessings and miracles. In September of 2023, Jason and his family received news that his tumor had returned and had to make a choice for a path moving forward. In November of 2023, Jason was accepted into an immunotherapy clinical trial at Duke Hospital. He fought every day to stay true to who Jason was and to not lose sight of what he was fighting for. Jason did not battle for himself; he was determined to see both of his boys’ graduate college and his oldest son get married. Jason also fought for many others who are currently or will battle brain cancer. He fought for the doctors to find a cure so that other families do not have to go through what he and his family had to endure. Jason went through so much but remained the most positive, selfless, strongest man throughout it all. In October of 2024, Jason won his battle and is now with Jesus Christ in heaven, healed, and no longer in pain or suffering in Jesus Name.

Jason is survived by his wife, Shanon Partin; sons, Austin Partin and wife, Olivia, and Dillon Partin; father, Willard Partin and step-mother, Kathy; brother, Matt Partin and wife, Tayett; brother-in-law, Sean Tryner and wife, Saundra; sister-in-law, Brooke Tryner; step sister-in-law, Beth Weaver; step sister-in-law, Staci Nikoli; nephews, Warren Partin, Miles Partin, Mason Tryner, Wyatt Tryner, Nathan Tryner, Nicholas Weaver, Kaleb Moore (Alexandria), and Garry Moore (Taylor); nieces, Taylor Crossfield (Cody), Bailey Tryner, Alexis Weaver.
