Jean Lucas

Benson, NC: Mrs. Jean Lucas, age 92, of 901 North Lincoln Street passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCullen.

Mrs. Lucas was born on May 31, 1930 in Harnett County to the late, James Edison and Mamie Ryals Holmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Dell “PD” Lucas, Sr.; son, Anthony Ray “Tony” Lucas; grandson, Will Harris; five brothers; and four sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Phillip Dell Lucas, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Gloria Lucas; grandchildren, Jennifer Lucas Henley, Brent Lucas, Spencer Lucas, and Rodney Harris; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at the home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church at PO Box 442, Benson, NC 27504 in c/o Rachel Denning.
