Benson, NC: Mr. Jimmy Carson Parker, age 64, of 3320 NC Hwy 242 North died Thursday, January 22, 2015, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Funeral service will be 3:00PM Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Johnson Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Searles and Rev. R. B. Parrish. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jimmy was born March 10, 1950, in Harnett County to the late Troy Erkwood and Theraldine Penny Parker. He was also preceded in death by nephew, Michael Erkwood Parker, and brother-in-law, Preston Barbour.
Jimmy was a draftsman and was a self employed entrepreneur. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus since he was 19 years old. Jimmy was a member of Johnson Memorial PFWB Church where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities. He was also a member of American Legion Banner Post 109.
Jimmy is survived by wife, Janet Ryals Parker; son & daughter-in-law, Rodney Carson & Courtney Allyson Parker; grandchildren, Evey Ruth Parker, Cadence Lee Parker, and Nash Carson Parker; sisters & brothers-in-law, Bobbie Barbour of Dunn, Brenda & Buddy Brown of Buies Creek, Bonnie & Billy Johnson of Clayton, and Vickie & Kenny Hawley of Wilmington; brother & sister-in-law, Billy & Sandra Parker of Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends in the sanctuary of Johnson Memorial PFWB Church immediately following the committal service Sunday.
