JoAnne Jones Hayes

Benson, NC: Mrs. JoAnne Jones Hayes, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  A Private Service will be held at a later date.             Mrs. Hayes was born on May 25, 1940 in Wake County to the late T.A. and Martha Bland Denton Jones. She was a retired law enforcement officer, homemaker, and very dedicated to her family and friends. Mrs. Hayes was the first female detective in Harnett County. Surviving are her sons, Darryl Henderson and wife, Carla of Greenville, Dale Henderson and wife, Kimberly of Hubert, Jay Austin and wife, Shannon of Newton Grove; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Jones and wife, Joan of Raleigh; step-children, Don Austin, William Austin, Carolyn Parker, Rodney Hayes, Tina Newton; several adopted children that Mrs. Hayes raised; several nieces and nephews.                     Arrangements by Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC
