John Lee

Benson, NC: Mr. John Leonard Lee, age 75, of 5432 Meadowbrook Rd died Saturday at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunn. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Henry Lee. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Mr. Lee was born May 21, 1937 in Johnston County to the late Howard and Myrtle Jernigan Lee.  He was preceded in death by wife, Elaine M. Lee; and a sister, Evelean Lee Powell. Mr. Lee retired from the Johnston County School Systems where he served as South Johnston High School’s security guard for many years. Mr. Lee along with his wife was honored as the Grand Marshall’s for 2004 Mule Days Parade.  Surviving are Daughter, Cynthia Lee of Dunn; Son, John Leonard Lee, II, of Benson; Granddaughter, Gracie Louise Lee of Four Oaks; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Ernestine and Ralph Adams of Four Oaks; Brother-in-Law, John Edgar Powell of Four Oaks; Several Nieces and Nephews. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meadow Elementary School Students in memory of Mrs. Elaine Lee 7505 NC 50 Hwy South Benson, NC 27504.
