John Jackson, Sr.

Smithfield, NC:  Mr. John William “Bill” Jackson, Sr., age 75 of 7362 NC HWY 210 died Saturday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.  Funeral Service will be 7:00 PM Tuesday at Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church.  Rev. Louis Godwin will officiate.  Graveside Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield, NC.Mr. Jackson was born on November 15, 1942 Norfolk, VA to the late Wade Norman and Blanny Mae Grant Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Rose Penny Jackson and brother, Duane Jackson. Mr. Jackson retired from the grocery business and was a member of Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church.Surviving are son, John William Jackson, Jr., granddaughter, Shelby Rose Jackson; grandson, John Tyler Wood; brother, Wade Norman Jackson, II. several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends following the funeral service on  Tuesday in the fellowship hall at Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church, 5835 Black Creek Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glennallen, VA 23058 or to the American Cancer Society Johnston County Unit, 8300 Health Park Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.Service Information
