Joseph Vernon Jones

Selma, NC: Mr. Joseph Vernon Jones, age 71, of Buffalo Road passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Services will be 3:00PM Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hope Church in Clayton. Revs. Luke Long and Gerald Blake will officiate. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Mr. Jones was born on November 15, 1951 in Franklin County to the late Ray Robert and Mavis Repsy Denton Jones. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Jones. Mr. Jones retired as a commercial tire mechanic and a member of Hope Church in Clayton.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Yvonne C. Jones; children, Joanna Grady and husband, Brian of Spring Hope, Kristy Wood and husband, Jimmy of Clayton; step-children, Jeremy Bell of Bunn, Rodney Bell of Asheville, Anthony Bell and Malica Alford of Bunn; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Wayne Jones and wife, Jamie of Louisburg, Stevie Jones of Bunn; several nieces and nephews.
