Joseph Michael Morris

Benson, NC: Mr. Joseph Michael Morris, age 72, of Golda Road passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held at a later date.

Mr. Morris was born on July 14, 1951 in Maryland to the late Samuel Tobias and Collete Holmquist Morris. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Toby Morris.  Joe worked his whole life in construction but when he wasn’t working, he loved to fish. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda Morris; children, Kelli Barefoot and husband, Bret of Benson, Drew Morris of Benson; grandchildren, Collin Barefoot and Ava Barefoot; brothers, Tim Morris and wife, Susan of South Carolina and John Morris and wife Dawn of Texas.
