Joseph Langston, Sr.

Four Oaks: Mr. Joseph Hampton Langston, Sr., age 89, died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Ricky Byrd. Burial will follow at Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Four Oaks, NC.                   Mr. Langston was born on November 26, 1929 in Harnett County to the late  Rev. John J. and Grace Jesslyn Locklier Langston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ira, Iris, Jim, Dixie, Dot, Doris and George.  Mr. Langston retired from Carolina Surgical Supply.  He was a US Air Force Veteran and was a member of Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church.                   Surviving include his wife of 62 years, Jo Linda Moore Langston, children, Joseph H. Langston, Jr. of Raleigh; Scott Langston and wife, Diana of Rocky Mount; and Laura Jackson and husband, Jeff of Jamestown; sister-in-law Katherine Moore of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Sara Carlisle and husband, Phillip of Rocky Mount; Mary Katherine Langston and fiancé, Mason Smith of Rocky Mount; Morgan Poston and husband, Michael of Benson; and Taylor Jackson of Jamestown;  one great grandchild, Camden Carlisle; many nieces and nephews.                The family will receive friends from 1:45 PM-2:45 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks prior to the funeral service.             In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Road  Smithfield, NC 27577 or Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church, PO Box 357, Four Oaks, NC 27524.                           Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC 27524
