Josephine "Jo" Johnson Barefoot

Benson, NC: Mrs. Josephine “Jo” Johnson Barefoot, age 96, of Federal Road passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 6:00PM-Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Private Graveside Entombment Service will be on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Rev. Dr. Reggie Ponder, Rev. Ron Gurganus, Rev. Clay Parker, and Mrs. Dianne McLamb will officiate.

Mrs. Barefoot was born on May 7, 1925 in Johnston County, NC to the late Albert Sidney and Florence Weeks Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Everette Barefoot, sisters, Mary Lee Dixon, Irene Woodall and Mildred Howell, brothers, Grant Johnson and Paul Creech. Mrs. Barefoot was a retired hairdresser and member of Elevation United Methodist Church, outside Benson, NC. Mrs. Jo was greatly loved by all her family and she enjoyed goodies, and watching nature. She will be remembered for her cheese cookies, divinity, fudge and her giving heart.

Surviving include many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home of Dianne McLamb, 132 Crystal Place, Benson, NC, 27504.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Elevation United Methodist Church, 5101 Elevation Road, Benson, NC 27504.
