J. Talmadge Mills

Angier, NC: Mr. Joseph Talmadge Mills, age 68, of 5650 Neills Creek Road died Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington.  Funeral Service will be 6:00PM Friday, November 18, 2011, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats.  Officiating will be Rev. Jerome Edwards and Rev. James O’Brien. A private Graveside Service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Mills was born May 26, 1943 in Harnett County to the late Joseph Clyde and Louise Taylor Mills.  He retired from construction and attended St. Matthews PFWB Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Champion, first wife, Bessie Mills and step-son, Ronald Chavis. Surviving include Wife, Betty Ann Mills of Angier; Step-Daughters and Spouses, Teresa and Marshall Gould of Coats, and Michelle and Jason Byrd of Lillington; Four Grandchildren; Special Nieces, Michelle Matthews, Angie Lassiter, and Dawn Arnold, all of Angier. Family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Alfred Champion, 88 Colby Lane, Coats, NC 27521. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center, 185 Pine State Street, Lillington, NC 27546.
