Four Oaks: Mr. Julius Haywood Parker age 87, of 599 Juniper Church Road, died peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2017. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Bethel Original Free Will Baptist Church, Hwy 96 S. Four Oaks. Revs. Billy Nowell and Tod Creech will officiate. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery.
Mr. Parker was born on November 4, 1929 in Johnston County to the late Hezekiah Carl and Emma Frances Parker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Allen Parker; granddaughter Meredith Lynne Parker, sisters: Anna Massengill, Alean Holloway, and Rosene Wood and brother, Coolidge Parker.
Julius was a lifelong farmer and avid gardener. He was very proud of his vegetables and produce that he loved sharing with his family and friends. He also worked 16 years with the USDA as a tobacco grader and was a member of Bethel Original Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Parker was also a veteran of the US Air Force.
Surviving include: daughter, Sue Parker; sons and spouses Peron Parker and wife, Linda; Haywood Parker and wife, Bonnie; grandchildren, Marjorie Coker and husband Ryan, Emily Jordan and husband Andy, and Andrew Parker and wife, Blane; great-grandchildren, Rex and Eli Coker, Parker and Katie Grace Jordan; special grand-dog, Bryce
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks Saturday, January 21st from 6 - 8 PM and other times at the home.
