Karen Brown Mellott

Dunn, NC: Mrs. Karen Brown Mellott, age 67, of Friendly Road passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Duke University Medical Center. Private Graveside Services will be held. 

Mrs. Mellott was born on January 8, 1957 in Harnett County to the late Frederick Cross and Joyce Godwin Brown. She worked in accounting, loved working on home interior projects, loved her cats, and especially loved her family. 

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Charles Mellott; son, Eric Mellott; grandson, Hayden Mellott; sister, Sandra Brown McKlough; mother-in-law, Ellen Mellott; and brother-in-law, Randy Mellott and wife, Phyllis. 

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Duke Health in support of Duke Palliative Care, checks may be made payable to Duke University and sent to Duke Health Development, attention: Evan Frazer at 300 West Morgan St. Ste. 1000 Durham, NC 27701 in memory of Karen Mellott.
