Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Kenneth Calvin Stewart, age 86, of Stewart Road died Wednesday at the SECU House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 3:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Marshall Stewart. Burial will follow at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield.
Mr. Stewart was born in Johnston County on November 28, 1927 to the late Minson and Geneva Massengill Stewart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Allen Stewart; brothers, Elmer Stewart, Marvin Stewart, Ralph Stewart, Herman Stewart, Ervin Stewart and Eugene Stewart. He was the last of Calvin's second generation of descendants that lived his entire life in the Stewart-Massengill Community on Devils Racetrack Road. He was a 1947 graduate of Four Oaks school and served in the 982 Engine Construction Building during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion in Four Oaks. Mr. Stewart retired from Keener Lumber and was a farmer.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews and sisters & brothers-in-law.
There will be no formal visitation; however, the public is invited prior to the service from 9:00AM until 2:45PM and other times at the home.
