Kenneth Hardee

Benson:  Mr. Kenneth Earl Hardee, age 66, of 1250 NC Hwy 50 S., Benson went home to be with the Lord at his residence with his family by his side. Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 7th, 2:00PM at  Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCullen.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Hardee served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran from 12-29-1967 until 12-16-1969.  He was a retired floor supervisor with Chicopee and was the owner/operator of Hardee's Heating & Air Company.  He was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109 in Benson, NC and Vietnam Veterans American Chapter 990 of Johnston County. Mr. Hardee was an avid fan of Nascar and enjoyed a love for hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, building and many other tinkerings.  Many mornings, you could find him enjoying breakfast with a variety of his friends.  He had a keen sense of humor and was often a profound source of laughter. Mr. Hardee was born January 31st, 1949 in Johnston County to the late Earl Wayne Hardee and Starrie Blackmon Hardee. He was preceded in death by sister, Janice Jernigan.   He is survived by his loving wife, Gwinda M. Hardee, special daughter, Buffy Lou Hardee; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Amy Allen of Garner; daughters, Bridgette Olive and husband, Ken  of Four Oaks; Wendy Hardee-Johnson and husband, Jerry of Linden; grandchildren, Dylan Hardee and wife, Leigh Ann of Clinton, NC, Emily Allen, Olivia Olive, Natalie Allen, Jacob Olive, Ashtyn Johnson, Jacob Allen and Lucas Allen; sisters, Ruth Tart and Golda Page both of Fayetteville, NC; brother, Sherrill Hardee of Lumberton, NC; special nephews, Eric Jernigan of Four Oaks, NC and Ricky Jernigan of Benson, NC; special niece, Susie Barbour of Four Oaks, NC; and  many more nieces, nephews and family. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home. Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #990, Johnston County Chapter 25, P.O. Box 1246, Four Oaks, NC  27524.
