Kenneth Edwin Messer

Benson, NC: Mr. Kenneth Edwin Messer, age 67, of Pleasant Hill Church Road, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, July 5, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Benson. Officiating will be ­­­­Dr. Ron Byrd, Revs. Scott Johnson and Jerome Pope. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

Mr. Messer was born on May 25, 1954 in Harnett County to Betty Messer Nordan of Benson and the late Joseph Edwin Messer. He retired from South River as a lineman and electrician. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church where he served in many capacities.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife of 26 years, Brenda Capps Messer, children, Robbie Johnson and wife, Michelle of Dunn, Tracey Johnson and wife, Tabitha Butler of Benson, Amanda Messer Hartman and husband, Matthew of Zebulon, Lianna M. Dyer of Benson; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Linwood Ray Messer and wife, Judy of Winston Salem, Donald Messer and wife, Michelle of Linden; sister, Donna M. McLamb and husband, Bryan of Dunn; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 2:45PM on Monday, July 5, 2021 in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Hill Christian Church prior to the service and other times at the home.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 929 Pleasant Hill Church Road Benson, NC 27504.
