Benson, NC: Mr. Kirby Lee Coats, age 72, of 272 Denning Road died Monday at his residence. Graveside Funeral service will be 2:00PM Tuesday at Dixon Family Cemetery. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Mr. Coats was born April 22, 1940 in Johnston County to the late Booker and Bertha Stephenson Coats. He was a farmer. Surviving are Wife, Lucinda Matthews Coats; Sons, William Nicholas Coats, Lee Patrick Coats, Bennett Kirby Coats and wife, Terri J., and Matthew Lynn Coats, all of Benson; and Sisters, Clenise McCabe and Gladys Johnson, both of Benson.
