Angier: Mr. Lawson Elyhue “Lucky” Earles, age 87, of 2464 Stephenson Road died Thursday at his home. Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Saturday at Johnson Memorial Church. Revs. R. B. Parrish and Chris Searles will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Earles was born April 25, 1924 in Texas to the late Burton Lee and Susan Childress Earles. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Bobbie Earles and James Earles. Mr. Earles retired from the U. S. Navy, serving in World War II, Korea, and VietNam. He also retired from the civil service at Fort Bragg. Mr. Earles was a member of Johnson Memorial Church, American Legion Banner Post 109, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are wife of 66 years, Violene Stephenson Earles; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Frances “Butchie” E. & Connie Jernigan of Angier; Sisters, Inez Hofelter of Bisbee, AZ and Mary Lou Johnson of Mexico; Brothers, Virgil Earles of NM, Johnny Johnson of AZ, and Richard Johnson of NM; Granddaughter & Spouse, Shelley & Brad Giles of Columbia, SC; and Great Grandchildren, Lawson, Taylor, & Kayden Giles.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday.
