Coats, NC: Mr. Lee Roy "Frog" Williams, age 74, of 282 S. Isabella Street passed away Friday at his residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Coats United Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Cecil will officiate. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery.
Mr. Williams was born on September 28, 1943 in Harnett County to the late Lee Jeffery and Maude Stevens Williams. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Wayne Williams and Carl Williams. Mr. Williams retired from the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. He was a charter member and past captain of the Coats Rescue Squad where he served for 22 years. Frog was devoted to and loved his family dearly. He loved riding horses and camping with family and friends. Frog was a member of Coats United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. His church family was a very important part of his life.
Surviving are wife of 43 years, Wanda Stephenson Williams; children, Michael S. Williams, Michelle Williams Lamm and husband, Mickey, and Kevin Denton all of Coats; grandchildren, Mitch and Trish Lamm, J.C. Williams, Chezney Peterson and Marchie Matthews, Zane Lamm, Cheyenne Denton and great-grandchildren; Lila Lamm, Caine Matthews, Caroline Lamm, AnaGray Matthews; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Jerry Norris of Garner; brothers and sisters-in law, James “Poodle” and Carolyn Williams of Four Oaks; Roscoe and Jean Williams of Coats; sister-in-law, Barbara Williams of Coats; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home.
