Angier, NC: Mrs. Lena Barbour Langdon, age 83, of NC Hwy 50 North, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Clayton. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Benson Baptist Church in Benson. Dr. Lawrence Powers will officiate. Burial will follow in Fellowship Community Cemetery in Angier.
Mrs. Langdon was born on September 28, 1937 in Johnston County to the late A.L. and Ada Langdon Barbour. She was graduate of Campbell University. Mrs. Langdon retired as the Chief Probation/Parole Officer in Harnett County. In retirement, she continued to work as a parole hearing officer. She was an avid potter and water color painter. Mrs. Langdon was a member of Benson Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a longtime member of the Johnston County Choral Society.
Surviving include her husband of 63 years, J. H. Langdon, Jr.; daughter, Amy Langdon of McGee’s Crossroads; sister, Helen Langley of McGee’s Crossroads; niece and nephew, Angela Langley Murphy and husband, Jed of McGee’s Crossroads, Michael Langley and wife, Luba of Atlanta, GA; great-nephew, Christopher Langley of Atlanta, GA.
Mrs. Langdon will be available for viewing and you may sign the register book at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson Friday, April 30, 2021 from 1:00PM to 7:00PM and other times at the home. The family will not be present during this time.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Benson Baptist Church, P.O. Box 323 Benson, NC 27504.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
