Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Lester "Les" George Green, age 72 of 198 Saw Mill Drive died Saturday at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. A Memorial Service will be held by the family at 1 PM, Saturday April 28, 2018 at Hope Church in Clayton (1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton, NC 27520).
Mr. Green was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 26, 1945 to the late George R. and Ruth Gonder Green. Mr. Green served his Country in the Marine Corps for 4 years and saw action in the Vietnam War. Les was a welder by trade working for Brobst Maintenance, however, he was talented in many areas including: wood-working; making decorative plaques, walking sticks and canes. Les was great at figuring out how to fix most anything that was broken. He was a very loving husband, father, and PaPa. Les attended Life Giving Church in Cary, NC where he served in leadership with his wife, Marie. He loved the Lord Jesus to whom he surrendered his all in January 2004 by God's Grace through Faith. Les' favorite verse was Matthew 6:33.
Surviving include his wife, Marie Blashinsky-Green; his children and step-children; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Robert Cummings of Kirtland, Ohio; son, David Green of Gloucester, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Jayme Green of Wickliffe, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Jason Boe of Clayton; step-son, Michael Blashinsky of Apopka, Florida; and step-son and daughter-in-law, David and Stacy Blashinsky of Ashtabula, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; a brother, Greg (Chris) Green of Crossville, Tennessee; an uncle Bill and aunt Ada Banfield; an aunt Dorothy Green; and a host of relatives and friends.
Les shall be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
