Lettie Humbarger

Benson, NC: Mrs. Lettie Neighbors Humbarger, age 77, of Benson died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Courtney. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Mrs. Humbarger was born February 15, 1935 in Johnston County to the late Silas Colon and Medie Creech Neighbors. Mrs. Humbarger was also preceded in death by Sisters, Marie Buckalew, Lois Pope, and Ellen Grimes. She retired after 32 years with Erwin Mills and spent a total of 61 years in the florist business. Mrs. Humbarger served in the United States Women’s Army Corps.  Surviving include Daughter, Debbie Payne of Benson; Son, Dana Humbarger of Carolina Beach; Sisters, Evanglene "Van" Lee of Benson, Brenda Killebrew of Benson, and Patricia Glover of Erwin; Brother, S.C. Neighbors of Dunn; Three Grandchildren, and Two Great Granddaughters. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church, 10534 US 301 South, Benson, NC  27504.
