Coats, NC: Mrs. Linda Weaver Matthews, age 73, of 3115 Erwin Chapel Road passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Revs. Paul Cecil and Tom Wagnor. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mrs. Matthews was born February 2, 1946 in Harnett County to the late James Edward and Mildred Jernigan Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Graham Matthews; grandson, Colby James Matthews; sisters, June Dale Weaver and Helen Johnson; and brother, David Weaver. Mrs. Matthews was a substitute teacher and worked in the cafeteria with Harnett County Schools. She was also a homemaker and attended Coats United Methodist Church.
Linda was an amazing mom, wife, sister and an angel to all. She was a seamstress, she taught school and baked but most of all she loved everyone that came into her life. She always listened, had a hug and smile for anyone she came upon. No true words can express just how truly amazing she was and how many lives she touched. For that, her legacy will be remembered because her gentle love, kindness, and amazing heart was shown in everything she did.
Surviving include her children, Lanita Tart and husband, Corky of Dunn, Michael Matthews and wife, Paige of Fuquay Varina, Timothy Matthews and wife, Rebecca of Dunn; Karol Kennedy Stovall and husband, Tommy of Lexington, NC; the mother of Austin and Tori Matthews, Michelle Wortham of Fuquay Varina; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Lee of Winnabow, NC and Becky Norris of Coats; brothers, Bill Weaver of Coats and James Weaver of California; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, November 15, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home.
