Linda Byrd Williams

Linda Byrd Williams, 87, of Dunn, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at The Carrolton of Dunn. After years of struggles with debilitating health issues, Linda transitioned into peace with her passing. 

Born January 1, 1938, into the large family of Cosby and Naomi Jones Byrd, Linda was the youngest of ten children. The Byrd family lived on their farm outside of Coats and based their lives around the principles of love of God, love of family, and dedication to a hard work ethic. Linda was predeceased by her parents, her seven brothers (Ralph, Kelton, CR, Jr., Granville, Stanton, Watson, and Talmedge, her two sisters, (Doris and Marie,) her son, Donnie Steele, and her devoted husband, Jerry Williams, of Dunn.

Throughout most of her adult life, Linda was quite involved with her community. She worked in the manufacturing business. She took great pride in her work and was dedicated to Westinghouse in Raleigh and Morganite in Dunn for many years, receiving commendations for her loyalty and productivity. Likewise, Linda was an active member of Erwin Chapel PFWB Church of Erwin, her family church. She was involved in different aspects of the church, especially the music ministry. She served as the pianist for years.

Linda is survived by her in-laws, Glenda and Mickey Ramer, both of whom provided for her care. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all benefactors of the Byrd legacy, as well as extended family and friends.

Services are being provided by Rose and Graham Funeral Home of Coats. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 7, at 2:00PM in Harnett Devotional Gardens of Dunn.
