Linda Lou Strickland

Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Linda Lou Barbour Strickland, age 68, of 875 Lassiter Road passed away Saturday at her residence. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Thursday at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Revs. Bob Copeland, John Foster, and Grace Hargis. Burial will follow in Pauline Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks.  Mrs. Strickland was born October 31, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Lester H. and Lula Wallace Barbour. She was preceded in death by  Sisters, Brenda Sue (Twin Sister) Ashby  and Florence Byrd; and a brother, Gardner Barbour. Mrs. Strickland retired from the Johnston County Board of Education as an administrative secretary and was a member of Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church. Surviving include; Husband, Thurman Strickland of Four Oaks; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Tammie and Chris Barbour of Four Oaks; Son, Jason Wood of Four Oaks; Step-Son, Thurman Strickland, Jr. of Rome, GA; Two Grandchildren, Nick Barbour of Denver, CO, and Tiffanie Barbour of Four Oaks; Three Step-Grandchildren; Sister,Lois Horton, of Four Oaks; and Several Nieces and Nephews. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and other times at the home of Daryl and Kim Smith, 180 King Mill Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
