Linwood Britt Barefoot

Coats, NC:  Mr. Linwood "Britt" Barefoot, age 93, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Betsy Johnston Hospital in Dunn. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Coats Baptist Church.   Officiating will be Revs. Jimmy Newkirk and Jesse Mooney.  Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn, NC.             Mr. Barefoot was born May 20, 1926 in Harnett County to the late R.M. and Malisse Hobson Barefoot.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Stewart Barefoot and several brothers and sisters.  Mr. Barefoot was a retired CSX Agent in Raleigh and Apex.  He was also a WWII Navy veteran and member of Coats Baptist Church.             Surviving include his daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha Lynn and Timothy Winstead of Wilmington, and Susan B. and K. W. Ballentine of The Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren, Laura Winstead and husband, Jeremy Robison of Alexandria, VA, Timothy J. Winstead of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth Ballentine of Houston, TX, Gabriel Ballentine of Scottsdale, AZ; and three beloved great-grandchildren, Heidi Winstead, Luke Robison, Caroline Robison; special nieces, Joyce Clay and Linda McLamb and a special nephew, Scott Barefoot; several other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his devoted caregiver, Daciah Jones.             The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-11:45 AM, Saturday, November 30, 2019 prior to the service in the fellowship hall of the Coats Baptist Church.              Flowers are welcomed; however, memorial donations may be made to Coats Baptist Church P.
